Japanese American Memorial in Washington, D.C.


The "National Japanese American Memorial To Patriotism During World War II" is a national memorial in Washington, DC honoring the loyalty and courage of Japanese Americans during World War II and commemorating the heroism and sacrifice of Japanese Americans who fought and died for their country. It was authorized by federal statute (PL 102-502) and signed into law by President George H. W. Bush on October 24, 1992. The 0.76 acre site was transferred from the Architect of the Capitol to the Park Service in 1996. The Memorial was dedicated in 2000 and ownership of the Memorial was transferred to the United States Government in 2002. Source: Wikipedia
