The original statue was designed & carved in wood & sold to the leading distributor of cigar store Indians in the U.S. Later it was cast in zinc & dozens of copies were made & sold across the country. The photos below are of the copy (dubbed "Lawrence" by the locals) in Schenectady, NY. Photos are by David Giacalone. Read more about Schenectady's Lawrence at David's blog.
