GIBRAN, Kahlil Memorial in Washington, D.C. by Gordon Kray
Memorial erected in 1990 to honor Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931), a Lebanese poet and novelist. He is known for using
both Eastern and Western mysticism in his writings. His works, such as "The Prophet", enjoyed a renewed interest
in the 1960s.
Upper terrace: Circular, inset benches, 8-point fountain, decorative paving. Lower terrace: 5 blocks in semi-
circle, sculpture of 3 doves on wreath of oak leaves & acorns, inscriptions. Located on MA Ave in Normanstone
