THOMAS, George H: Memorial at Thomas Circle in Washington, D.C. by John Quincy Adams Ward
This is considered by some to be the best equestrian statue in the city. Thomas was a career army officer & hero of the Civil War. Although born in Virginia, he fought for the Union & is sometimes referred to as "The Hero of Chickamauga". Click here for other attractions related to the Civil War.
