The Schuylkill Chained & The Schuylkill Freed sculptures at the Fairmount Water Works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

In "The Schuylkill Freed" the Schuylkill River is represented as an allegorical male figure with a chain wrapped around both arms. He is reclining on a group of rocks with water flowing all around him. In "The Schuylkill Freed" the Schuylkill River is represented by an allegorical female figure seated next to a water wheel.
