Dear brother.

Thank you for the letter you sent me, I makes me happy to hear from you since you have left so far away, but when you are healthy time goes fast, and to be healthy is the best both for me and for you I'm healthy an must be satisfied now. Well, if you ask for some (much?) news it is as expected. Now I will tell you that GJERTRU and IVER have had their wedding festivities, and I was in Hyllestad church the sunday when they were married. And the same with JÆRDE [SLAUGHTER BØ] and KARI THUNE, they have also had wedding festivities and it was held on Jære. But TUNE [Kari's father?] was against it, that they should be married, and they did not go to the party, but there were a lot of people, ANDREAS and ANA were there too, it was a nice wedding party, so it has happened the same, as you believe, and she will soon have a child. OLE FOS has left for Bergen and will go to the commercial school. So here is sad and lonely, here is one nice boy left so that I ... take a walk with, so we don't even go out on Sunday afternoon. But it is not a very good photo, because it was taken at Fos, it was a travelling photographer here. It was such a bad weather that day. Now we have finished the hay, and we will start to harvest the cereals – it is autumn soon. Yes, I have been at home a few times this summer, and everything is as normal there.
