Dear friend Albert,
yes how is (it) now meant what (type of) weather do you have? Must you "feed the stacks" now? Here the grass stands green, (it) rains now and then but has not rained much since I came here. Yes here is truly the second Norway except not as cold. It is as if one comes to Bergen when one walks in to Anacortes Store; steamers going everywhere, discharging and taking in cargo.
Here is such lovely beauty of nature (in) all here and flowers are standing in the garden and it is so nice this time of year and it doesn`t take much to keep the house warm for here is enough of good (fire) wood which I have plenty of close to the house. One can live well off a few acres since one gets such an incredible harvest afterwards here. To start with I like it here- because I can see 12 of my closest neighbors from my window, which is no more then half a mile over (to them from my place), in addition to the city, the train and the lake.
It is not difficult to get some fruit; apples are lying plentiful around the trees, and they throw a large part to the pigs. One of these days I`ll go out fishing with one of my neighbors. Hope you are living well and that everything is good there back home.
See Albert, when you go in to EGALY ELES in Dodson, I owe a bit of money there, will you be so kind and pay it for me, it`s around 30 dollars. Send my greetings to MORTENSON, ALFRED RICE LLOYD + the families ERICK and BRANSON + the NYLANDER family and all these good old acquaintances, and that they should send me a few words when it so fits. Then you are lovingly greeted from
Henry Wagseth

PS. Yes now I have it nice as the mail it is delivered close to my door every day.
