Dear Olga -- Yes now I can not wait any longer before I send you some words. First (of all,) so many thanks for your last letter, and all (letters) I have received. I thought I should have sent some words at once. But one day sneaks away after the other, and before one knows, a week or two are gone. But here we are and everything is well, so what more shall one wish for!
Hope that you live these your (last) days (in Norway) in Skor valley. It is good to come out, but the best place is at home, you know. I presume that you by and by will have to tell your little secrets. And possibly take the head out off this and that in such a context, but you shall not take it to your heart, because you shall be certain that you shall have that as a credit when you come to me.-- And I do not think that any of your parents will have much to say about it, because if, then I think that they are doing grossly wrong against you, and I know they would not. Well. I should so dearly have wished that I could have had the opportunity to speak to (???you? them?) just a little, little while. And if you had been there, I do not think that you would have been that slow.
I do know how it is when someone shall leave for America. It is as if you are following a person to the grave. One has to go so far, far away, so one has to see and think about the long way. Why? Yes, because one thinks of the long and dangerous way which it used to be in the old days. But for someone who knows the way, it's the other way around. Because if you see it from this side of the ocean, it seems so much shorter. And that is the way it will be for you as well.
I know that with time, you will probably have the possibility to visit your beloved ones, that would be a pleasure. Hope you will take some time and write a few words in the not too distant future; I am so fond of your letters. We have good weather here, but so we have almost always. We do not have as much rain as you have, and you will like it. We will soon have winter, I presume, but that is not dangerous. No, now you will be tired of me, so I will have to stop. You may reprimand me another time. Then at the end so many loving greetings from your Albert.
